What other developments are going on Uptown besides residential condos?

Office Buildings and Hotels

-Located on South Tryon near Stonewall, Wachovia will be adding a 48 story office building which will have 1.5 million sqft of office space. Completion is expected in 2009

-Located on 5th and College Bank of America is building a 32 story office story that will have 750,000 sqft

-Nascar will be building an office tower near Stonewall and Brevard in Second Ward next to their new Hall of Fame. The office tower will have 300,000 sqft of office space.

-Next to Bank of America office tower on College street Ritz Carlton Hotel will be built and rise 17 stories high with 150 rooms.

-The W aloft hotel will be 17 stories high located on Trade and College in The Epicentre.

-There will be 60,000 sqft of office space spread throughout The Epicentre
-300 South Tryon will not only feature condos and retail but will also have 316,000 sqft of office space from floors 3-16.

Entertainment

-Located on Trade and College The Epicentre will be a 265,000 sqft entertainment complex that will feature restaurants, bars/clubs, bowling alley, shops and a movie theater. The Epicentre will be on the same block as 210 Trade condos and W aloft hotel. Epicentre is expected to be complete late 2007 to early 2008.

-Nascar Hall of Fame is coming to Charlotte in 2009! This will bring in many tourists, jobs and be great for the city. The Nascar Hall of Fame will also include a new Convention Center Ballroom.

-As part of Wachovia's First Street Project along with an office tower, Wake Forest MBA program and condo tower they will also include The Bechtler Are Museum, a new Performing Arts Center, Afro-American Cultural Center and The Mint Museum!

-The new proposed Charlotte Knights AAA Baseball Stadium will be a great addition to 3rd Ward finally bringing baseball Uptown!

-Novare which is building The Avenue, The Catalyst and Twelve Charlotte will be building a office tower in their 3rd Ward site which will be on Church street. They have not yet decided how many stories this will be as of now but is expected to be complete by 2010.
